The Monroe Lending Library is pleased to announce they have received a grant of $500.00 from the Duke Energy Midwest Charitable Giving Program. This grant will be used toward the purchase of an outside library book return.
The Reading Bug Contest continues until July 18th. Take a Walk on the Wild Side with Zoo Keeper/Educator Mike Nicolai of the Cincinnati Zoo's Comes to you Program will be on Thursday, July 10th from 2-3 p.m. at the Monroe Lending Library. All participants of the Reading Bug Contest are invited to a picnic and butterfly/ladybug release on Thursday, July 24th also at the library. These events are sponsored by a grant from the Greater Cincinnati Foundation.
The second reading contest begins July 19th through August 30th. Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 readers. Certificates of Participation will be given to all that enter the reading contest.
Join us at Friends of Monroe Library Night at the Fifth Third Field in Dayton to see the Dayton Dragons vs. Ft. Wayne Wizards. This fund raising event for the library will be held on Friday, August 8th, 2008 at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10.00 each or a ticket and hat can be purchased for $15.00 Ticket information is available at the library.
The Library Quarter Auction will be held on Friday, July 25th from 7-9 p.m. Preview & seating begins at 6:30 p.m. Please note NEW LOCATION AT MT. PLEASANT RETIREMENT VILLAGE ACTIVITY CENTER located at the corner of Indiana & Northwestern Avenue in Monroe. The Quarter Auction features products from the following companies: Bear Paws Animal Stuffing,The Pampered Chef, Stampin' Up!, Gold Canyon Candles, Jolly Polly Studios, Home Interiors, Discovery Toys, Creative Memories, Tupperware, Avon, Tastefullu Simple and Mary Kay. All proceeds donated to Monroe Lending Library Building and Operating Fund. This is a fun filled family event. Come join the fun!
