Monroe Lending Library Summer Reading Program

The reading program is from June 1 to July 31, 2016.

The program is for all school-age children who are members of the Monroe Lending Library.

Children can be read to, read to others, and read books to themselves.

Each circle (flyer above) has four sections.  Each section equals 15 minutes of reading.  Sections can be colored in as completed.

Bring flyer in for recognition at each benchmark: 5 hours, 10 hours, 15 hours, and 20 hours.

The flyer is available for pick up at the library.

Book Club

The Monroe Lending Library hosts an adult book club on the third Monday of each month at 11:00 a.m.  The club alternates between fiction and non-fiction books chosen by the members.  Join us and share our love for reading.

Volunteer Opportunities

Our library is solely staffed with volunteers.  We are always looking for adult volunteers to join our friendly staff.  Some of the duties of our volunteers include checking books in and out, returning books to the shelves, assisting patrons with finding books, etc.  No prior experience is required.

Junior High and High School students looking for ways to earn community service hours are welcome also.

Joining our staff is a good way to meet new people, serve your community, and get out of the house for a few hours.

Books for Sale

The library has gently used books for sale.  Stop by and browse our "for sale" shelves.
