ADULT LIBRARY

Wednesday, September 17th at 7 p.m. Needlecrft Group.  It's time to start that Christmas gift!

Saturday, September 22nd at 7 p.m. Book Review.  Books is THE LAST LECTURE by Randy Pausch.

QUARTER AUCTION, Friday, September 19th 7-9 p.m. at Mt. Pleasant Retirement Village Activity Room.  Preview & seating begins at 6:30 p.m.  All proceeds benefit the Monroe Lending Library Building & Operating Fund.  Bring your family, for this fun filled night!.

August News

The Monroe Lending Library is pleased to announce they have received a grant of $500.00 from the Duke Midwest Charitable Giving Program and a $250.00 donation from Baker Concrete of Monroe.  These monies will be used toward the purchase of an outside library book return.

Monday Library hours have been extended beginning August 4th.  New hours are Monday 3 p.m.-8 p.m., Wednesday 10 a.m.-12 noon, 2 p.m.-8 p.m., and Saturday 10 a.m.-1 p.m..

If you are interested in books, meeting new people, join our volunteer group.  Thanks to all of our volunteers for making these hours possible.

July 2008 News

The Reading Bug Contest continues until July 18th.  Take a Walk on the Wild Side with Zoo Keeper/Educator Mike Nicolai of the Cincinnati Zoo's Comes to you Program will be on Thursday, July 10th from 2-3 p.m. at the Monroe Lending Library.  All participants of the Reading Bug Contest are invited to a picnic and butterfly/ladybug release on Thursday, July 24th also at the library.  These events are sponsored by a grant from the Greater Cincinnati Foundation.

Library Book Sale

The Monroe Lending Library will have a Book Sale at the City Wide Garage Sale at the Monroe Methodist Church on Saturday June 7th from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Children's books, adult fiction and adult non-fiction will be available.  Childrens' books will be 25 cents each or 5 for $1.00, paperback books $.50 each and hardback books $1.00.

 

Catch The Reading Bug

The Monroe Lending Library wants you to catch the Reading Bug!.  Sponsored through a grant from the Greater Cincinnati Foundation.  BOOK! BUGS! & FUN!

June 2nd: Registration For Summer Reading Contest Begins!.  Don't forget to pick up a reading log from the library to keep track of your books.

June 9th-July 18th: Join us every Wednesday @ 2 PM for a Story Time & Take-Home Craft filled with lots of creepy crawley bugs!  Hornet Haven kids should look for additional information regarding their specially scheduled library field trips.

July 4th - Look for our leading readers in the Fourth of July Parade.

QUARTER RAFFLE

Friday, March 14th 7-9 p.m. at the Monroe Presbyterian Church 57 West Elm Street, Monroe

All proceeds donated to the Monroe Lending Library Building & Operating Fund.  Admission is $1.00. One FREE Charity Raffle ticket for wearing Green.  NEW  Additional Charity Raffle tickets are sold 3 for $1.00 or 20 for $5.00.  SPLIT THE POT RAFFLE  tickets are sold $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00.  At the end of the night we will draw a winning ticket and you get half of the money collected that night.  The other half goes to the library.  February's winner took home $135.00.  Quarter Raffle features products from the following companies, Tastefully Simple, Mary Kay, Avon, Jewels by Park Lane, Bare Paws Animal Stuffing, The Pampered Chef, Stampin' Up!, Gold Canyon Candles, Jolly Polly Studios and Home Interiors.
